Kitchen make over!

Since we moved into our house Darren and I have wanted to give our kitchen a SERIOUS make-over. He really wanted to make new cabinets and I wanted new flooring. SOO... the other day I decided that instead of Darren having to build new expensive cabinets all summer, I'd just re-paint ours, and in time for Corbin's birthday on the 23rd this month. Well I started Thursday the 10th with the help of Ginger, and then worked on it ALL weekend with Darren. Then I finished up the door painting throughout the week and finally on Saturday the 19th we have a finished put back together kitchen.

As for the floor.. we decided to wait and take a break from projects for awhile. And for tax returns :)

This project was a lot of hard work, but totally worth it! I looked at a lot of blogs and DIY stuff for idea's and here is a list of thigs I wish someone would have told me!

1. It will take longer than 1 weekend.

2. LABLE everything. Use tape and a sharpy.

3. Remove everything from your cupboards. I tried to put a bag over stuff.. but in the end it was all covered in dust and had to be washed.

4. Remove the hardware, baggy and lable each one.

5. Get a baby sitter!

Paper Wreath

I was at Roberts Crafts the other day and saw some Spring Decor that gave me an idea for this!

This was SOOO easy and most of you probably have everything you need to make it already at home.

Bam! This is all you need.. and a glue gun.

1. I cut out the center of a paper plate (optional Spray paint it just in case you have any gaps)
2. Pick out some pretty colored scrapbook paper, I would recommend 3-4 for variety
3. Use a cup and trace perfect circles, then cut them out
4. Hot glue the paper to the plate (right face up like your going to eat off it)
5. Add a ribbon to hang it with or not, and your done!

I made both of these in about 15 mins from start to finish. What a fun way to make a wreath for every Holiday to switch out. I needed something to hang under this picture in my hall, and this turned out great.

getting crafty

Here is my new hobby lately, I've been hand painting all of these decoration blocks! It is so easy and so much fun! I started making them for my house and I got carried away with idea's.. so now I am selling a few at a consignment shop in Springville. I still have lots of paints and blocks left so if anyone wants me to make them any let me know! The pictures don't show all the detail, but I think they look pretty dang good in person. I think I'm going to make me some for every holiday and season to put up on my shelves.

Take that $40 Wreath from Rod works that I almost bought! By the way I buy those little pepper things all the time and cut them with wire cutters and put them in stuff. A great cheap way to add detail to things.
