Lots of newz

Well I feel like I've been so crappy at posting lately. Nothing really fun and exciting is going on in my life, and I'm trying NOT to complain about being pregnant.. but it's really hard this time! I'm only 10 weeks so far.. so hopefully things get better before they get worse.

Anyway.. I will post about my hike up Timpanogos with my family as soon as I find my memory card, and after that there's the Hogal Zoo.. But until then you get this.

I am finally feeling a little bit better, so I started sewing again. In between watching kids, needing a nap everyday and working I haven't had the energy until now. So in celebration I am doing another give away!

The beanie shown is some of the new styles I am making so follow my blog here or like me on FaceBook here by Sep 30th to be entered to win! I'll ship it anywhere in the US for free.

Sewing Box and Give A Way!

Darren surprised me one day and built me a box to hold all my ribbon and sewing/craft stuff. It was so sweet of him I didn't even ask him for one! I think he was getting tired of my mess every time I pulled out my sewing machine.

He didn't finish or paint it though he thought I'd want to decorate it. And so I finally did.

I bought this stencil at Hobby Lobby (my new favorite store!) And I LOVE how it turned out. It looks kinda vintage or antique.

Corbin did a puzzle while I painted.

TA-DAAA!! I really like how it turned out. I just kind of made up the design as I went cause I couldn't decide what to do. But I think it turned out really nice, and it keeps all my stuff organized better. (Plus it matches my bedroom so it can sit on my vanity and blend right into the decor )

GIVE AWAY! Follow my SmallTownJulia blog HERE and on Easter I will select one random lucky person to receive this Rod Works picture frame for free! If you invite a friend to follow and they do, that will count as a second entry.(Just leave me a comment letting me know)  If you share it on FaceBook it will count as 5 additional entries!

Hurry over it's a new blog and I only have 2 followers (besides myself) so you have a good shot at winning!!

Paper Wreath

I was at Roberts Crafts the other day and saw some Spring Decor that gave me an idea for this!

This was SOOO easy and most of you probably have everything you need to make it already at home.

Bam! This is all you need.. and a glue gun.

  1. I cut out the center of a paper plate (optional Spray paint it just in case you have any gaps)
  2. Pick out some pretty colored scrapbook paper, I would recommend 3-4 for variety
  3. Use a cup and trace perfect circles, then cut them out
  4. Hot glue the paper to the plate (right face up like your going to eat off it)
  5. Add a ribbon to hang it with or not, and your done!
I made both of these in about 15 mins from start to finish. What a fun way to make a wreath for every Holiday to switch out. I needed something to hang under this picture in my hall, and this turned out great.

getting crafty

Here is my new hobby lately, I've been hand painting all of these decoration blocks! It is so easy and so much fun! I started making them for my house and I got carried away with idea's.. so now I am selling a few at a consignment shop in Springville. I still have lots of paints and blocks left so if anyone wants me to make them any let me know! The pictures don't show all the detail, but I think they look pretty dang good in person. I think I'm going to make me some for every holiday and season to put up on my shelves.

A deal at Jo-Ann's

So I have been looking for a wreath for my front door for what feels like months and I FINALLY found something I like. I wanted something that would go with every season.. cause lets face it who has time or money to keep switching them out? Well Jo-Ann's mailed me a coupon for 40% an item so I made this.

18in Grapevine wreath         3.99
        40% off                      -1.60
(2) White Pepper 1.19ea      2.38
TOTAL                             $4.77

Take that $40 Wreath from Rod works that I almost bought! By the way I buy those little pepper things all the time and cut them with wire cutters and put them in stuff. A great cheap way to add detail to things.
